Phyllis Ann Dutton, 86, passed away on October 3, 2024, in Wellsville, NY. Born on November 10, 1937, Phyllis was a devout member of First Bible Baptist Church and extended her faith through missionary work with her husband Rev. James M. Dutton, in Point Lay, Alaska.
Phyllis was deeply cherished for her love of family and her unwavering faith. She was a master of quilting, baking, and various crafts, finding joy in creating and sharing with those she loved by having large gatherings, where she could laugh and embrace family.
Phyllis is survived by her siblings, Margaret Emasie, Eleanor Riber (Paul), Loretta Rice, Doris Laubacker (Doug), John Mooney (Mary), and Gary Mooney (Shirley).
Her legacy continues through her children, James Dutton (JoAnn), JoAnn Smith, Barbara Hobden (Marvin), Dan Dutton (Kari), Dawn Hawkes (Randy), and Ronny Dutton; her grandchildren, Jolene Elbon (David), Jeremy Dutton, Stephanie Smith, Mindy Smith, Andrew Silco, Steven Silco (Amber), Ashley Counts (Doug), Daniel Dutton (Elizabeth), Joel Dutton (Briana), Taylor Dutton (Christine), Ashton Dutton (Melody), Brady Hawkes (Chelsea) and Colton Hawkes (Natasha); and great grandchildren, Kailee, Kaleb, Ryleigh, Douglas, Joshua, Gabriel, Hailey, Rebekah, Madison, Blake, Charity, Brianna, Alyssa, Victoria, Makenzie, Mary, Virginia, Marvin, Maggie, Freyja, Leo, Rory, Rodric, Ivy, Jack, Jane, Taylor, Jacob, Liam, Michelina, and great-great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Alaina and Reina.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband, James M. Dutton, her granddaughter Shana, her grandson Philip, her parents, Francis and Inez Mooney and her sister, Fran.
Phyllis was known for her warmth and kindness, and her home was always filled with the aroma of fresh-baked goods, love and laughter.
Her Celebration of life will be held Friday (Oct 11th) 2:00 PM at First Bible Baptist Church, 990 Manitou Road, Hilton NY 14468.
Flowers and/or contributions to support the church's missionary work, a cause close to Phyllis's heart, are appreciated. Phyllis's legacy of love, faith and generosity will live on through the many lives she touched!
