Phyllis D. Felhofer 93 of Marshfield passed away on June 29, 2022 at Three Oaks Health Services.
Phyllis was born on April 21, 1929 in Janesville, WI to John and Helen (Inda) Essex. She was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Marshfield, WI. On May 14, 1951, she was united in marriage to Norbert Felhofer at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. Norbert passed away on September 9, 2012.
Phyllis enjoyed a long career as an RN in various departments at St. Joseph's Hospital including the beginnings of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She finished her career in nursing at the Marshfield Clinic. During her retirement she volunteered at Hope Lodge where she would accompany cancer patients to their treatment appointments. Her enjoyments in life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the best Grammy ever.
Phyllis was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. In keeping with Phyllis's wishes, memorial services will be private.
Phyllis is survived by her children John (Natalie) Felhofer of Hudson, WI, Jane (David) Cooper of Marshfield, Julie Felhofer of Marshfield, and James (Diane) Felhofer of Stevens Point,WI. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Adrienne (Scott) Banaszynski, Erin (Alex )Ketchum, Megan (Adam) McKenna, Jordan (Ericka Otto) Felhofer and Ethan Felhofer and great grandchildren Spencer, Lincoln and Sloane Banaszynski and Josephine and Jacob McKenna. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law Mary Essex of Wausau, WI and Christine Essex of St. Francis,WI and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norbert, sisters Mary Heinen and Joan Braatz and brothers James Essex, Anthony (Jack) Essex and Gerald (Jerry) Essex.
The family would like to thank Wells Nature View, Three Oaks Health Services, and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care in Phyllis's final journey.
Memorials may be given in Phyllis's name to the Ronald McDonald House, Marshfield, WI.
