Phyllis (Campbell) Furbush, 99, died peacefully surrounded by her daughters on November 9, 2025. Phyllis has joined her husband and the love of her life George (Bud) Furbush in heaven. She was born at home in
Beverly, MA to the late William H. Campbell and Antionette (Stevens) Campbell. She was also predeceased by her brother William Campbell of Annisquam, MA and her Aunt Aimie Stevens also of Beverly.
Phyllis leaves behind three daughters, Martha DeFeo of Ossipee, NH, Susan Russo of South Windsor, CT and Jane Lareau and husband John of Grantham, NH. She had five grandchildren, Ronda Russo, Suzanne Morsbach and husband Gregory, Rachel Russo, Joshua DeFeo, Jennifer Custeau and husband Joseph. Phyllis also leaves behind Great Grandchildren Vincent Russo, Dominic Burnham, Victor Morsbach and Scarlett Morsbach.
Phyllis had a few different jobs in her lifetime, but most of them found her surrounded by children. When she was young she worked at the House of Seven Gables in Salem, MA and the Wenham Tea House. She drove children to kindergarten, was a lunch lady for the Beverly School system and worked as a bookkeeper at Essex Country Club in Manchester, MA. She was also a Registrar at the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts where she retired.
Phyllis loved life. She took classes in travel, accounting, and photography. She also loved to keep up with her diary and she was an avid letter writer, even transitioned into electronic mail later in life. Her hobbies included reading, knitting, crocheting, golf, cross country skiing, Chinese rummy, dominoes, jigsaw puzzles and watching her favorite soaps. She loved to go to the movies and attend theater performances. She was a season ticket holder for many years of the North Shore Music Theater in
Beverly, MA and The Barnstormers in Tamworth, NH.
She was a lifelong member of the Second Congregational Church in Beverly where she founded the SERRV Shop. She taught Sunday school for 20 years as well as volunteered her time at the church fairs, coached a girl's church basketball team and organized bean suppers. She was the President of the Enon Jr. Circle which she helped create. After she was unable to attend church services in person, she attended virtually from home.
She loved to travel to National Parks, go on cruises and visit attractions such as Silver Springs and Disney World. She and Bud spent winters in Florida after retirement, spending time with their niece Debra Campbell. Her summers were spent relaxing at Jolly Roger Village on Province Lake in Effingham, NH.
Phyllis will be missed tremendously by her family. She was a generous, kind and loving Wife, Mother, Nana, Gigi and Aunt.

Her graveside service will be held at North Beverly Cemetery, 685 Cabot Street,
Beverly, MA on Saturday, November 15 @ 11am. Contributions may be made in Phyllis' name to the
