Phyllis Garnett went to her heavenly home on July 13, 2025. Phyllis was born on May 17, 1927 in Corinth, Maine, daughter of Ralph and Hazel (Clapp) Goodwin. She was raised on a dairy farm; she was the second of eleven children. She attended East Corinth Academy where she especially enjoyed playing basketball.
She married Hadley (Peanut) Garnett from Bradford and there they raised their three children. She was a homemaker whose home was always open to anyone needing a meal or a place to stay. Phyllis enjoyed music, dancing, crocheting, traveling and making Christmas a special time for her family. Phyllis worked in retail for 33 years as an assistant manager. After retiring from full time work, she moved to Valdosta, GA and began working in the gift shop at SGMC. She was an active member of the SGMC Auxiliary holding various positions and enjoying the camaraderie of the other "pink ladies." She was a member of the Mt. Zion Church.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, parents, five brothers, four sisters, granddaughter Janice Treadwell, grandson Todd Cray and son-in-law Arnold Willinski. She is survived by daughter Jacqueline Willinski, son George Garnett (Rachel), daughter Linda Cray (William), sister Rhoda Turner, grandchildren Peter and Mark Treadwell, Jerry Garnett (Gail), Amy Fitzgerald (Richard), nine great grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10am on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Corinthian Cemetery in Corinth. A time to visit with the family and celebrate Phyllis' life will follow at 12 noon at the Bradford Baptist Church in Bradford, ME.
