We gather to remember and celebrate the life of Phyllis M. Hann, who was born in 1943, in Wilmington, DE, and passed on November 11, 2025. Phyllis was an empathetic, loving, supportive, and thoughtful woman, and these qualities were reflected in every aspect of her life. She was a beacon of warmth and affection in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." This quote perfectly encapsulates how Phyllis lived her life and how she touched the hearts of those around her.

Phyllis had a long and fulfilling career in healthcare, working as a Nurse and Supervisor. She also served on the Disaster Committee at Good Samaritan Hospital. She retired from Good Samaritan Hospital, Puyallup, Washington, in 2007, after dedicating over 25 years to serving others. But her caring nature extended beyond her professional life. Phyllis was a leader in the La Leche League in Washington, helping new mothers navigate the challenges of early motherhood. This role was an extension of her nurturing nature, and she brought the same care and dedication to it as she did to her career in nursing.

Beyond her professional achievements, Phyllis had a zest for life that was beautifully expressed in her hobbies. She found joy in spending time with her family and pets, indulging in crafts, writing (including articles published in Penelope's Corner), and even playing softball in her younger years. She was a member of the Gig Harbor Methodist Church, joining in the early 1970s, and was often found volunteering in the nursery. She had a deep love for her family, and this was evident in everything she did. Phyllis is survived by her children Thomas, Kimberly, and John, her nieces Robin, Ruth, Karen, and Sherry, her nephew John, her brothers Jack and Jimmy, her sisters-in-law Brenda and Lorraine, her stepdaughter Susan, her daughter-in-law Kari, her son-in-law Robert, and her granddaughters Kaitlyn and Aiyana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alma and John Miller, and niece Sarah.

Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. Her memory will forever be a reminder of the power of empathy and the significance of family. Special thanks go to The Hampton at Salmon Creek for all the loving care they gave Phyllis.
