Phyllis Jeannette Harvey, 81, passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026 at CenterPoint Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.

Phyllis was born June 9, 1944, in Mexico, MO, to George and Mary Harvey. Phyllis grew up following her daddy around learning everything she could from him. She always said, "Where daddy was I was." She graduated from Slater High School in 1962.

Phyllis married John Neitzert, Sr. on October 1, 1967. She met John in Kansas City, MO. They were blessed with two beautiful children, John Jr. and Laura. Her marriage brought on many blessings including an extended family. Connie and John Hutchinson shared many memorable moments with her.

Phyllis graduated from Concord Career Institute as a medical assistant. During her time working in nursing homes, she worked as a cmt, housekeeping supervisor, and she managed medical records and central supplies. She was known by her colleagues for her tireless energy and strong work ethic.

She spent most of her free time with her family. Her hobbies included fishing, painting, doing puzzles, bowling, and washing dishes. Phyllis was the biggest Elvis fan, and she enjoyed her many trips to Graceland. She also loved going on family adventures and trying new things.

Phyllis is survived by her children, John Neitzert, Jr. (Teah) and Laura Anthony; and her step daughters Crystal and Nicole; her seven grandchildren: Michael (Henrietta), Tyler (Brandy), Austin, Cody (Amanda), Katherine, and Kristopher (Sky) Shannon (Kara); 14 great grandchildren; Uncle Verle and Lucille Harvey, and Aunt Pat Harvey; and two nephews Randy and Mike Harper

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents George and Mary Harvey, Sister Barbra Harper, niece Cindy Harper, and baby brother Harvey

Phyllis loved the thrill of life's fast moments, the rush, the lights, and the sound, always drawn to action, where excitement could be found.

Celebration of life will be held at Faith Community Church in Oak Grove on February 15, 2026 from 2pm-4pm. Come join us and share your stories.
