Phyllis Hirsch Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 10, 2025.
Phyllis Ann (Traxler) Hirsch, 97, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Born on April 15, 1928, in Dayton, Ohio, Phyllis was the daughter of Velma (Lower) and Forrest Traxler. She was the eldest of four children (Betty Koeppel, John Traxler and Jim Traxler).
Phyllis married the love of her life, Clifford Hirsch, with whom she shared 59 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2007. Together they built a warm, loving family and a lifetime of cherished memories through their many homes in Columbus, Ohio; Huntington, West Virginia; Brookfield, Wisconsin; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; and Scottsdale, Arizona.
She is survived by her three sons: Michael (Lynne) Hirsch, Tod (Linda) Hirsch, and David Hirsch; four grandchildren: Brian (Kristie) Hirsch, Matthew (Marisa) Hirsch, Brett (Rachel) Hirsch, and Jenna (Ryan) Jones; and nine great-grandchildren: Austin, Lucy and Charlie Hirsch; Flynn and Noella Hirsch; Conrad and Harrison Hirsch; and Brooke and Alyssa Jones.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Phyllis found immense joy in attending the many events and milestones of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved traveling, reading, and music, and was well known for her remarkable cross-stitch work, which she shared generously with family and friends.
Phyllis also found purpose and fulfillment in her volunteer work at Paradise Valley Methodist Church, Scottsdale Shea Hospital, and the Sagewood Senior Living Community, where her kindness, warmth, and steady presence touched countless lives.
Her legacy of love, service, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sagewood Senior Living Community's Oasis Event Center (4555 E. Mayo Blvd., Phoenix, Arizona) on Monday, January 26 from 1 PM - 3 PM.
