Obituary of Phyllis Ann Holloway
Phyllis Ann Holloway, age 89, of Buckhannon, WV, peacefully went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Mountain Memories Assisted Living in Elkins, WV. She was born April 22, 1935, in Webster County, WV, a daughter of the late Forest R. and Bessie M. Armentrout. Phyllis was united in marriage on August 1, 1953, to Homer E. Holloway, who was the love of her life and preceded her in death on April 15, 2019. Phyllis is survived by one son, Stephen E. Holloway and wife Nicole of Glenville, WV and one daughter, Teresa A. Teter and husband Jerry of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Jacob Teter and wife Sharece of Wilmington, NC, Joshua S. Holloway of Wichita Falls, TX and Stephen H. Holloway of Morgantown, WV; four granddaughters, Jessica Martinez and wife Zena of Phoenix, AZ, Kloe and Abigail Nichols and Brianna Mcauliffe all of Glennville; several great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews. Phyllis was one of ten children; surviving are Margie Lons of Medina, OH, and Richard "Frog" Armentrout of Daniels, WV; preceded in death are Forest Robert, Billy Marvin, Edith Williams, Hunter Franklin, Henry Lloyd, Sharon Powell, and John Everett. Phyllis was a wonderful homemaker, mother and hair stylist by trade. She had so many talents. She was an incredibly talented seamstress and in fact hand made all the clothing for her daughter Teresa's wedding; including the wedding dress, groom's tux, all bridesmaids' gowns as well as groomsmen tuxes. Phyllis was a Baptist by faith and her love of faith was reflected in the many crafts her and Homer created for many years. She loved gardening and feeding and watching her birds. Phyllis always had a sweet smile that she was known for. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mountain Memories for their loving care of Phyllis. Friends will be received Friday, June 21, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM (noon) at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at noon at the funeral home with Kenneth Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Burnsville, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
