Phyllis LaVerde

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Filomena "Phyllis" ( Pilla) La Verde. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born in Italy, she immigrated to the United States at 19, where she built a life filled with love and warmth. A dedicated wife to the late Genaro C. La Verde Jr. and cherished mother of six children, Karen La Verde of Dracut, Donna Sweeney and her husband Gerald of Billerica, Julie La Verde and Joseph Baldassarre of Gardner, John La Verde and his husband Peter C. Kouroubacalis Jr. of Melrose, Stephen La Verde and his wife Stephanie of Saugus, and Tina MacIntosh and her husband Stephen of Billerica. She was the heart of her family. She poured her love into every home-cooked Italian meal and made every gathering special with her warmth. Her love for animals was just as strong, sharing her life with countless beloved family pets over the years.
She had a deep love for the song "Snowbird" by Anne Murray. Now, she has taken her flight "to that land of gentle breezes where the peaceful waters flow."
She will be deeply missed and leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and unforgettable memories.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday December 19th at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., ARLINGTON from 9:30-11 am. Followed by her funeral mass in Saint Agnes' Church at 11:30 am.
Out of respect for the family, the Burial will be Private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MSPCA, www.mspca.org.
