Phyllis Maggio Link died Monday, August 4, 2025, in Knoxville with her family by her side.

Mrs. Link dedicated her professional life to education and to the Catholic Church. She also enjoyed volunteering.

Mrs. Link was born in East Chicago, Ind., on August 23, 1948, to the late Rocco and Lena Maggio.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Julie Link of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Kris Frye, also of Knoxville; as well as grandchildren, Keaton and Jay Link.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Link, and brother, Rocco Maggio Jr.

Mrs. Link was a graduate of Indiana State University with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Business Education.

Before settling in Knoxville, Tenn., she called Wheeling, W. Va., Mechanicsburg, Pa., Peachtree City, Ga., Meadville, Pa., and Carolina Beach, N.C., home.

She was a devout Catholic and served as a regular Eucharistic Minister and lecter at her home churches.

She joined the staff at Meadville's Seton School in 1992 and retired as Guidance Counselor in 1999. She also spent many years as a Crawford County (Pa.) Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and served as Youth Programs Director at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Meadville.

Mrs. Link enjoyed traveling with her family and taking annual trips with her beloved "Beach Chicks." She was a lover of Broadway musicals and her accordion. She was keen to watch Animal Planet well into the night and had a special affinity for The Incredible Dr. Pol.

Phyllis was well known for her incredible Italian cooking as well as her infectious laugh that would crescendo with a squeak and the occasional snort. She never met a stranger nor did she shy away from an opportunity to embarrass her kids.

The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, August 13 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Click Funeral Home Middlebrook Chapel at 9020 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN. The funeral will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 13 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph at 1300 Eoff St., Wheeling, WV with burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Crawford County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Inc. at 310 Chestnut St, Suite 232, Meadville, PA 16335 (crawfordcasa.org) or to Alzheimer's Tennessee, Inc. at 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919 (alztennessee.org).
