Phyllis J. Mayforth

Phyllis J. Mayforth, 87, of Marion, passed away at Compassus Hospice on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 10:55 pm in Indianapolis. She was born in Alliance, Ohio, on Saturday, December 1, 1934, to Clyde and Cecile (Crutchley) Barber. She married Albert F. Mayforth, whom she first met at Mount Union College. They were happily married 62 years.
Phyllis graduated from Alliance High School and was a beautician for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and sang in the church choir. She also sang with the Sweet Adelines Group Christmas City Chorus. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling all over the United States and ballroom dancing with Albert.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Albert; sons, Brian (Donna) Mayforth of Springboro, OH, and Scott Mayforth of Ashland, WI; grandson, Brandon Mayforth of Springboro, OH; and granddaughter, Emily Mayforth of Columbus, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roy F. Barber.
At Phyllis' request, there will be a private funeral service with entombment following at Grant Memorial Park.
