Phyllis Powell

Phyllis M. (Monn) Powell, 83, of St. Thomas, PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in her home. Born January 12, 1940 in Chambersburg, PA she was the daughter of the late James D. and Arvilla M. (Rock) Monn.
She was employed as a seamstress at the Stanley Company formerly J. Schoeneman Company in Chambersburg, PA. She retired in 2002 after 33 years with the company. Phyllis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Chambersburg. She enjoyed cooking, baking, feeding the squirrels, spending time with her beloved dog, Molly, and most of all being with her family.
She is survived by two children, Vickie S. Grove of Chambersburg and Edward L. Powell, Jr. and his wife Lisa of St. Thomas; two grandchildren, Kristen Wingert (Tim Ellis) and Levi Powell (Kelsea); two great-granddaughters, Allison and Aubrey; four sisters, Erma Stahl (Jim), Mary Lou Rock (Joe), Alice Addlesberger (Jerry), and Beverly Webster (Frank); two brothers, John Monn (Peggy) and Lloyd Monn (Marcie); and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Powell, Sr. who passed away July 12, 2017 and three siblings, Doreen Fickes, Mike Monn, and Robert Monn.
A Celebration of Life will be held, 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 18, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 50 Ragged Edge Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. The family will receive friends following the service. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg.
