Phyllis Ann Turner Pruitt, 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 2, 1956 in Horry County, SC to the late Lillie Mae Long Turner and was the wife of 31 years to Rickey “Rick” Pruitt who survives.
Phyllis formerly worked with Narrow Flex and she retired from Interstate Narrow Fabrics after twenty years of service. She enjoyed working with her flowers and growing daylilies but most of all she loved Christmas. Phyllis would spend weeks decorating and shopping for all those she loved. She knew the true reason for the season and had the most unselfish giving and caring heart of anyone and she always put others before herself. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be sorely missed. She was of the Baptist faith.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses that took care of Phyllis at Cone Health Alamance Regional, Cone Health Cancer Center at Alamance Regional and AuthoraCare for their excellent care during this difficult time.
Survivors other than her husband, Rick Pruitt include her sons, Phillip Mauldin and Gary Mauldin; grandchildren, Sammy Mauldin, Conner Mauldin, Amber Mauldin, Bo Mauldin, Savannah Mauldin, Chyanne Capper and husband Zack, McKenize Braswell; five great grandchildren; a sister, Susan Turner Riddle and husband Allen; brothers, James “Jimmy” Turner and Keith Dennis Turner and wife Teresa; her mother-in-law, Altavista Pruitt and three nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother, a son, Rodney Turner and a sister, Pam McVicker.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Reid Dickens with the burial to follow at Moore’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:45pm Saturday prior to the service.
