Phyllis Cornelia Johnson Raymond, born on March 8, 1931, to James Theodore Johnson and Cornelia Burdick in Salt Lake City, Utah, peacefully passed away on March 28, 2024. She grew up in Salt Lake City, where she fostered enduring relationships with her immediate and extended family.
Phyllis's life was centered around her family. In her twenties, she met her beloved husband, Reuben, and they were married in Colorado on October 7, 1957. Together, they embraced the joys and challenges of raising four children, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
As a dedicated homemaker, Phyllis found immense fulfillment in nurturing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a special knack for making holidays magical, ensuring that every celebration was brimming with warmth and joy. Phyllis had a passion for beauty, evident in her meticulously decorated home and her personal style, always adorned with painted nails and beautiful jewelry.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Randy Raymond; her 9 grandchildren: Katrina (Michael) Goodman, Jenney (Matt) Rees, Sean (Shannon) Averett, Jeffery (Jennifer) Averett, Heather Cole, Stephen (Jennifer) Nelson, Nicholas (Anja) Nelson, Thomas (Devon) Nelson, and Tara Jones; and 22 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her three daughters, Robyn Poppel, Shaunna Jones, and Annette Nelson, as well as her husband, Reuben, who passed away five days before her.
Phyllis's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will forever be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
