Phyllis Ann Rogers of Newcastle, Oklahoma, passed away from this life to begin her eternal life in Heaven on October 14, 2021 at the age of 75. Phyllis was born in Yukon, Oklahoma to Benjamin Harrison Childers and Eula Palene Childers (Reames). Phyllis grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Capitol Hill High School. She was a wonderful homemaker for her family.
Phyllis was devout in her faith and was very dedicated to her church. Her first love was always her lord and savior, Jesus Christ, as well as the love of her life for the past 58 years, her husband Odes. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and friend. She absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren, always waiting on them hand and foot, and she loved to make peanut brittle and other special treats for her family and friends at Christmas time. Phyllis was a homebody, but she loved having company, and she enjoyed friends coming to her house to visit. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed family excursions to Lake Texoma. She enjoyed watching TV, especially game shows and westerns.
Phyllis held nothing back, always a straight shooter. She was a plain talker, and you always knew where she stood on the issues. Phyllis touched the lives of many, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Darwyna Rogers. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Odes O. Rogers of the home; her son, Gary Rogers and wife Teresa of Newcastle; a sister, Laverne Gisinger of Sterling, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Services for Phyllis will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 18, 2021 at The Rock Church, located at 12500 S. Penn Avenue in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
