Phyllis Schad Obituary

Phyllis Ann (Greene) Schad, formerly of Liverpool, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on September 9, 1936 in Syracuse, NY to the late John & Marguerite Greene. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and aunt to her many niece and nephews.
Raised the fifth of eleven children, Phyllis had an eventful childhood, full of countless family adventures in and around the town of Galeville, NY. A life-long lover of country music, Phyllis always enjoyed dancing and met her future husband at a local square dance at the age of 15.
In 1954, Phyllis married her husband, the late Richard B. Schad and raised their three children in the village of Liverpool, NY. She worked for many years as a legal secretary in several law practices. Phyllis was a sports enthusiast, first as a cheerleader in high school rooting for her future husband and then later encouraging on her son and grandsons from the sidelines at many football, basketball and lacrosse games. After the passing of her husband in 1999, she moved to Western New York to help with the love, support and care of her grandchildren. She is predeceased by; her brothers, William, Jackie, Robert and Terry and her sisters Peggy (Murray), Eileen (Hawks) and Cassandra (Burrows).
Phyllis is survived by her three children; Richard Schad (Rachel) of Austin, TX, Mary Wisner (George) Central Square, NY and Eileen Dietsch (Brad) of Clarence, NY; her grandchildren, Chelsea, Nicholas, Alec, Tommy, Erica, Alexis & Jackson and four great-grandchildren. Phyllis is also survived by her siblings Carole (Hogan), Patricia (Bourgeois) and Edward Greene.
Friends & relatives are welcome to join the family at Liverpool Village Cemetery at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 1, 2025 for a brief graveside service, followed by a celebration of life gathering from 12-3pm at the Euclid Restaurant on Rte.31 in Clay, NY.
Phyllis will be remembered for her kindness, love and support for all her many family members and friends.
