Phyllis Mae Wade, 84, of Deltona, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on June 28, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Arthur Sylvester and Margaret Ellen (Van Arsdall) Jones.
At just 16 years old, Phyllis married the love of her life, George C. Wade, beginning a beautiful journey together that would grow into a family of seven. Phyllis devoted her life to her family with unwavering love, strength, and selflessness. She was the heart of her home, a devoted wife, proud mother, and a beloved "Granny" and "Mamaw" whose kindness and warmth touched everyone around her.
Phyllis had a vibrant spirit and a love for simple joys. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler with a natural talent for the game. She loved NASCAR and cheered faithfully for Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott on race days. One of her favorite traditions was her annual trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where she visited Dollywood and added a new quilt to her cherished collection each year. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family: shopping trips, board games with the kids, and countless shared moments that brought laughter and love to every gathering.
She is survived by her children, Lacinda (Phillip) Worthen, Kimberly (Don) Myre, George (Selina) Wade, and Christopher (Alycia) Wade; her thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; her sister, Pat Callahan; her brother, Denzil Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Phyllis is reunited in heaven with her husband, George Wade; her daughter, Ladonna Maxey; her grandson, Clive Wade; her sister, Rosalee Baker; her brother, Timothy Jones; and her parents, Arthur and Margaret Jones.
A memorial service to celebrate Phyllis's life will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lohman Funeral Home – Deltona Chapel. Friends and family are invited to gather beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Her love, laughter, and gentle strength will live on in all who knew her.
