Phyllis Waterhouse Obituary

Phyllis Waterhouse
January 19, 1930 - November 16, 2025
Phyllis Waterhouse, age 95, entered the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, November 16th, surrounded by loved ones. Phyllis LeeAnna Allen was born on January 19th, 1930, in Wenatchee, Washington to Charles and Edna Allen. She spent her early years growing up in Ardenvoir, Washington. However, her life truly started when she met the man of her dreams, and they began their life together. She married Harold C. Waterhouse on June 19, 1951, and they began building their wonderful life together. They made their home in East Wenatchee and had six sons. They shared a lifelong dedication to family. Phyllis was committed to her family in every aspect of the word. She was a homemaker throughout all of the years that her sons were growing up, always taking time to care for their needs. Among her specialties were baking cookies to be devoured after school; always lending a listening ear, always cooking and preparing delicious food for the family; and so much more. She always made her kids, grandkids, and everyone around her feel loved and valued. She was not only a mother to six sons, but also took in several grandchildren, acting as both parent and grandparent to each of them. She always had an open door and welcomed everyone with love and open arms. Over the years, she also had many dear friends. In addition, she built businesses while being a full-time mother as well. She opened a dress shop, LeeAnna's Fashion Boutique on Wenatchee Avenue in 1978, which was open for several years. She knitted sweaters for decades for her family and as a business, and she authored 12 knitting books. Somehow, she still found time for extracurriculars. In her younger adult years, she was a skier, bowled in a bowling league, and played softball. Tennis was a major sport in her life during her older years. Tennis was also a family sport, and all of her children and grandchildren were encouraged to take part and stay active. When she was not playing tennis or chauffeuring, she hosted many family nights of games or treated many of us to the movies. She also always loved going to movies over the years with her big sister, Bernice. As both mom & grandma, over the years she attended hundreds of tennis matches, basketball games, softball games, baseball games, soccer games and more. She cheered on her kids and grandkids in all of these sports and in any other events in which they were involved. At the young age of 88 years old, in childlike faith, Phyllis accepted Jesus Christ into her life and was baptized as a Christian. She is survived by five sons: David Waterhouse, Mark Waterhouse, Rick Waterhouse, Dan Waterhouse (wife Sharon), Brian Waterhouse (wife Heather); sisters: Bernice Parody and Colleen Gilpen; 13 grandchildren: Johnny Waterhouse, Jennifer Heitman (Waterhouse) husband Nick, Julie Crea (Waterhouse) husband Shelby; Cindy Waterhouse, Mandy Waterhouse, Brandon Waterhouse, Hannah Veteto (Waterhouse) husband Seth; Sarah Mendiguren (Waterhouse) husband Andrew, Bekah Thomsen (Waterhouse) husband Rasmus; Josh Waterhouse and wife Katie; Abby Campfield (Waterhouse) husband Derek; Lily Waterhouse. Cole Waterhouse. 24 great-grandchildren: Alyssa Cortez, Briana Waterhouse, Jayden Waterhouse, Lindsay Heitman, Taylor Northrup, Tayler Heitman, Kellie Mosely, Megan Crea, Austin Crea, Sydney Crea, Kemberlee Garduno, Keven Garcia, Kasandra Garcia, Blake Christianson, Brody Christianson, Ava Renteria, Nate Veteto, Noah Veteto, Harlee Mendiguren, Miley Mendiguren, Ella Thomsen, Will Thomsen , Claire Waterhouse, Carter Campfield. 11 great-great-grandchildren: Knox, Tatin, Paislee, Henry, Dru, Dax, Beni, Landon, Nora, Bentley, Hadley, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hal; her parents, Charles and Edna; her son, Kevin; her brothers, Duane; Donald; Darrell; and sister, Beverly. Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Teresa and Pedro Hernandez, their family, and the staff at Rosewood Cottage. They loved and cared for our mom and grandma for the last several years in Chelan, and treated her like one of their own family. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
