Phyllis Arlene Wickstrum, age 94 of Manhattan, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.
She was born on the family farm around Leonardville on December 24, 1924, the daughter of Elmer and Edna (Moon) Anderson. She graduated from Leonardville High School.
On March 15, 1943 she was married to Lloyd Ervin Wickstrum. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2001. Phyllis worked in the kitchen and dining department in Boyd Hall at Kansas State University. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading.
She is survived by one daughter, Arlis Wickstrum of Prairie Village; three sons, Galen Wickstrum (Ronna) of Manhattan, Garen Wickstrum (Valerie) of Harrisonville, Missouri and Arlen Wickstrum (Brian Morley) of Lawrence; three grandchildren, Sarah Wickstrum and Matthew Wickstrum, both of Harrisonville, Missouri and Dustin Schirer (Katie) of Prairie Village and two great grandchildren, Wren Schirer and Wes Schirer of Prairie Village.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Cremation is planned with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date.
The Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
