Phyllis N. Zarillo (December 17, 1928- October 31, 2025)
Phyllis N. Zarillo, formerly of Milltown, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at Parker Nursing Home in Somerset. Born and raised in New Brunswick, she lived in Milltown and Monroe before moving to Somerset. Phyllis attended Saint Peter’s High School and went on to build a successful career in banking, where she served as a branch manager at multiple banks in Middlesex County until her retirement.
She loved to travel, visiting places such as the Bahamas, Europe, Hawaii, and many other stunning destinations. A skier and enthusiastic bowler, she also treasured reading and arts and crafts. She was celebrated for her baking—her apple pie and classic “pizzagaina” Italian Easter pie were her specialties. Phyllis cherished holiday traditions and especially loved celebrating Christmas Eve. She was a parishioner of St. Mary of Mt. Virgin RC Church in New Brunswick.
She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Columbia Zarillo, sister, Theresa Martinowich, brother-in-law, Gus Martinowich, and sister-in-law, Carolyn Zarillo. She is survived by her brother, Anthony J. Zarillo, Sr. of Highland Park; nephews, Peter Martinowich (Denise) of Yardley, PA and Anthony J. Zarillo, Jr. (Sandy) of Easton, PA; nieces, Lisa Trent (Jon) of Toms River, and Carolyn Viola (Stephen) of Milltown, along with many beloved great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Mount Virgin RC Church in New Brunswick. Entombment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call on November 10, 2025, from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 North Main Street-at Riva Avenue, Milltown.
