Pierce O'Malley, beloved father, family man, husband, and friend to many, passed away on January 18, 2026 at the age of 59. Born on June 7, 1966 in Drogheda Co. Louth, Ireland. Pierce was the cherished son of the late John and Margaret O'Malley and the youngest of seven children.
Pierce grew up in Ardee, Co. Louth – a place that forever held his heart. While still living in Louth, Pierce did what he loved most-farming. Soon after, he worked at a fertilization plant, where he met some of his lifelong "skippies, scoobies, and bridies." Life later took him across the Atlantic, but he always affectionately referred to his hometown of Ardee as "the metropolis of County Louth," a reflection of both his humour and enduring pride in where he came from. He forever carried Ireland with him wherever he went.
Pierce moved to New York in 2004 with his wife, Catherine, and their two children, where he built a life in the restaurant and real estate business. He earned the respect of all those with whom he worked and continued to touch people's lives along the way. Despite the distance, Pierce returned to Co. Louth often, especially Ardee, where his treasured memories and roots remained.
Pierce had a lifelong love of cars and Fendt tractors. He was known for being exceptionally social, warm, and approachable. He had a rare gift for making people feel welcomed and valued. His charming sense of humour, infectious smile, and ability to light up any room left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a man who encouraged others, uplifted spirits, and always prioritized the people he loved most.
To know Pierce was to truly love him. He made the lives of those around him richer simply by being himself.
Pierce is survived by his two beloved children, his daughter Saoirse and son Óisín, who were the pride and joy of his life, and his wife, Catherine. He is also survived by his brothers Raymond, John Jay, and Edward, as well as his sisters Madeline, Grace, and Derville, all of whom he adored. Pierce was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret O'Malley.
