Pierrette Simpkin Obituary

Pierrette L. Simpkin, born on March 7, 1947, in Disraeli, Canada, passed away peacefully at her home in Manchester, NH, on August 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Her life was marked by her boundless strength and selfless dedication to her family, which she cherished above all else throughout her lifetime.

Pierrette moved from Disraeli, Canada to Manchester, NH in her early teen years. Her life's work was complete devotion and caring for her family. She worked in various job roles in the Manchester area throughout her lifetime, but her primary and most fulfilling role was as a devoted mother, as she raised her children and managed her household with grace and love. Pierrette was widely regarded as the "pillar of the family," holding her family together with strength, love, and endless giving to those around her.

Once she became a mother, her family became the epicenter of Pierrette's world. She always prioritized the needs of her children and, in many instances, those of others' children as well. Pierrette thrived on familial gatherings, eagerly embracing any occasion to bring her loved ones together. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she adored every moment spent with them. Pierrette's culinary talents were notably highlighted during the holidays when she loved making pork pies with her sisters, creating cherished memories that would always be remembered through the years.

Her dedicated belief in the Catholic faith was a great source of her strength throughout her lifetime, and with that faith she always managed to be a bright ray of sunshine in the days of whomever she came across.

Pierrette is survived by her son, Michael Chagnon and his wife Bonita; daughters, Sylvie Hugh and her husband Milton, Linda Lorden and her husband Mark, and Nancy Stockton and her husband Philip; stepdaughter Christine Smith and her husband Bob; sister Gisele Turgeon; as well as 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward her legacy of love and family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Pierre Chagnon; her second husband, Peter Simpkin; sisters Lucie Goulet and Denise Ouellette; and her granddaughter, Sadie Kimball.

Memorial services for Pierrette will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. A Memorial Gathering will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Prayer Service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The Cemetery Committal Service will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery at 12:00 PM.

My deepest sympathy to Pierrette's family.
I got to know Pierrette when she worked at The CMC gift shop. Then when she married Peter, they lived up the street from me and I got to visit them. My daughter babysat for Pierrette's son Michael
at one point.
I will remember her fondly.
