Pietro Fragola

Pietro Fragola, age 89, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on April 29, 2023. He was born in Castello del Matese on November 24, 1933 to parents Michele and Filomena (Grillo) Fragola. On October 3, 1965 he married his beloved wife Vittoria (Simoniello) Fragola in Castello del Matese, Italy. Vittoria predeceased him in 1997. In 1965, Pietro moved to England in search of work and where he started his family. In 1973, they all moved to America to start a new life and started working as a machinist in Englewood, NJ.
Pietro was extremely proud of his Italian heritage. For many years, he was President of Figli del Castello Matese, a local Italian club. He loved music and dancing, playing cards, watching soccer, and enjoying a nice glass of wine. He was a very sharp dresser. Spending time with family and friends meant so much to him.
Pietro is survived by his 3 children: Filomena Fratarcangeli and her husband Rob, Bernie Fragola and his wife Maria, and Michael Fragola and his wife MaryAnn; his 6 grandchildren: Vittoria, Robert, Marco, Michael, Matthew and Max; and his siblings Giuseppe Fragola and Nina Granitto.
In addition to his wife Vittoria, Pietro was predeceased by his parents Michele and Filomena, and his siblings Vincenzo Fragola, Livio Fragola and Louise Colucci.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 3, 2023 from 4-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday May 4, 2023 at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha in LaGrangeville, followed by entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
