Pitsamai “Pen” Gambill, 78, of Columbus, passed away in the early morning of February 16, 2025. She was born in Bangkok, Thailand on May 10,1946. She married Roger Gambill on July 4, 1971, and he preceded her in passing in 1995.
Those left to cherish the memories of Pen and love filled food created by her masterful hands include, daughters, Ruth (Edward) Cullman, and Ida Gambill; son, David (Misty) Gambill; grandchildren, Tanya, Brian, Destiny, Natalia (Jake), Christian, Audrey, Boston; 4 great-grandchildren, Special long time friends Loraine and Erin (Boom) Lindsay and many other family members and friends. Along with her loving husband of 24 years,
Pen preceded in death by Mother in law Ida E. Gambill, 2 brother in laws.
One of Pen’s main passions was food. It was her way of showing her love to others, family or stranger. Your plate may empty, but it would not last for long in her home. She was the head cook of two different kitchens over the years by trade, but the art never stopped for her. If she was not on her feet feeding those in need, or those she loved; she still was in leisure enjoying cooking shows. It truly was her way of loving the people around her. She loved babysitting her own grandchildren but her compassion for children also led her to babysit little ones of her area as well. She was a straightforward, woman of few words; to the point of possibly stubborn at times. But she had a big heart and the moments she would let it shine on you, truly, would melt your own heart and bring a tear to your eye.
Immediate family will greet friends and family from 1pm to 3pm, Monday, February 24, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions; 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd, Columbus, 43231. A service to honor Pen’s life will be held at 3pm, also at the funeral home.
