Plumer Reed, Jr. 69 of Utica, NY passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 1, 2025 to be with the Lord in his final resting place.

Born in Dothan, Alabama on April 23, 1956, to the late Plumer Reed, Sr. and Mae Davis. Plumer attended school in both Rochester and Utica for his early education.

Plumer was first married to Patricia Hunter, that union had three children. Plumer also had a child with Freda; two children with Delores and one child with Yvonnea. Later in life, Plumer married the love of his life Mary O'Shea, who he is now reunited with in Heaven.

Plumer began his working years at the Behlog & Son Produce as a fruit loader. He was a man with an affinity for fashion. Whenever the family came together for gatherings, he would enjoy his music while drinking a Budweiser. He was a man on the move from Alabama to Georgia to New York. Plumer was an ambitious, funny man who loved to go to the "the stone". He will be fondly remembered by his family and community. Plumer was amazing for all that he could do and will be missed by all. Plumer will always be known as a loving, supportive father. He always took them fishing. He always made sure his children were in unity. Moreover, he gave his children rules to ground them as well as forming their foundation.

Plumer is survived by his children and their loved ones Monique, Patricia, Plumer (Alexis), Tammy, Michael (Elissa), Brian, Anfernee, Steven and Joe. He will be fondly remembered by a host of grandchildren; John (Hunter) Marice, Qaundell, Qaunesha, Lynesha, Tyrone (Gerald), Shonrasia, Tanasia Cubbage, Tiajuana, Tydarius, Jayvion, Jaylyneece, Shanelle, Rachelle, Jasmine, Nasir, Jahtavious, Niyonna, Christionna, Desao, Isaiah, Mia, Kaylina and Nevaeh, a host of great grandchildren as well as his sisters, aunt/uncles; Bobby Jean Reed, Gloria Reed, Calley Reed, Lyndell Reed and John D. Reed.

Visitation for family and friends is Friday, November 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, Followed by a service at 12:00 PM at the conclusion of visitation. The Reed family would like to acknowledge their sincere appreciation to all those who have extended their support, calls, visits and expressions of sympathy and love during our time of loss.
