Poppy Aftosmes

Mrs. Poppy C. (Touloumzis) Aftosmes, 84 years of Saugus, died January 1, 2013 in Winchester Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Charles George Aftosmes. She was born in Lynn, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Kallias) Touloumzis. She was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. She has lived in Saugus since 1960. She was active in St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn. She was a member of the St. George Ladies Society and a member of the St. George Philoptochos Society. Mrs. Aftosmes loved to cook. Her family was most important to her and she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters Maria Zallas and her husband Nicholas of Lexington, Catherine Chipouras and her husband John of Saugus, her grandchildren Alexis Zallas of Lexington, Christian and Karina Chipouras of Saugus and her godchild, Poppy Peristeras of Middletown, Rhode Island Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean Street (Rte 1A) Lynn followed by funeral services in St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn at 12:00 PM. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday (Today).
