Pornpimol "Pon" Ninlawong

Pornpimol “Pon” Ninlawong, a dedicated and beloved member of her family and community, passed away on November 28, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on January 15, 1950, in Phattalung, Thailand, Pon lived a life characterized by generosity, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones.

For 25 years, Pon made significant contributions at the VA Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), where her exemplary service earned her the prestigious Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary's Award for Excellence in Nursing in 2002. Her colleagues and patients remember her as a hardworking professional whose pure-hearted nature shone brightly in every interaction.

Beyond her professional achievements, Pon found great joy in her personal endeavors. She was deeply passionate about real estate, home renovations and often took pride in various projects. Attending her daughter Amy's golf tournaments brought her immense happiness, as did the many moments spent cooking for her family and friends. She cherished playing with her granddaughter, Olivia, creating memories that will be treasured by her family for years to come.

Pon is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Vitaya "Moe" Ninlawong, her two daughters, Amy (Kyle) Gillen and Ada (Keshun) Morgan, and her adored granddaughter, Olivia Gillen. She also leaves behind her siblings, Theerasak (Watchara) Akaraborworn, Prayoon (Chiraprapha) Akaraborworn, Wichitra (Raymond V. Schultz) Akaraborworn-Schultz, Waraporn (Pornchai Sirichotiratana) Akaraborworn, and Sammy (Mike Juliano) Delgado; nieces and nephews, Peter (Maly) Akaraborworn, Nevin Akaraborworn, Annie Akaraborworn, Osaree Akaraborworn, Mukarin Hirunteraphol, Arch Akaraborworn, Alena Sirichotiratana, Anya Akaraborworn; great nieces and nephews, Avary Cheung, Ansley Akaraborworn, and Ariya Morgan; and numerous extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeam Un Sae Bow and Paiwon Sae Heng, and her brother, Tri Akaraborworn. Pon Ninlawong's legacy of love and compassion will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered for her immense contributions to both her family and her profession.
