Prentiss “Pete” Charles Kaufman, 84, of DeBerry, Texas entered into eternal rest on November 15, 2023, in Marshall, Texas. He was born on May 24, 1939, in Columbia, Mississippi to Prentiss Carl Kaufman and Willie Bell Elliott.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Kevin Moore. Interment will be held at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Ave. in Shreveport.
Pete was a Class A welder for Riley Beard Industrial for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He loved and cared for animals of all kinds, especially feeding squirrels and birds.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth Ann Horn Kaufman; his sister, Betty Jean Polk; and his daughter, Donna Shametta. Left to cherish his memory include his sister, Peggy Ann Miller; his brother, Freddie Kaufman; his daughters, Angela Giddens Bowlinger, Alecca Rhyna Offer and husband Bill, Regina Anderson and husband David; and his ex-wife, Ria Gibbs; his grandchildren, James Giddens, Jr. and wife Tami, Brandon Lucero and wife Tiffany, Bo Offer and wife Nicole, Travis Offer and wife Teyan, Emillee Giddens, Elizabeth Beach and husband Preston, Brianna Bowlinger, Hannah Bowlinger; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Honoring Pete as pallbearers will be James Giddens, Jr., Bo Offer, Travis Offer, Jeremy Borja, Will Offer, and Osiel Suarez. Honoring Pete as honorary pallbearer will be Ryker Giddens.
