Preston Booth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Soller-Baker Funeral Homes, Inc. – Lafayette Chapel on Dec. 30, 2025.
Preston Anthony Booth, 10, of West Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at his residence.

He was born July 9, 2015, in Cary, NC, to Ryan and Kara (Ricketts) Booth.

Preston was in the 4th grade at Hershey Elementary.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and loved spending time at Grant's House.

Preston enjoyed going to school, swimming, listening to music, playing with his brothers, watching Home Improvement & Home Alone and spending time with family. He had the ability to win anyone over. He adored his therapists, teachers and friends that supported him through his journey with cerebral palsy.

Though Preston couldn't speak, he was sure to show you how he felt about things. He loved chaos and laughing when people got into trouble. His smile could brighten just about anyone's day.

Surviving are his parents, Ryan and Kara Booth, two brothers, Walker and Colby Booth, all of West Lafayette, grandparents, Donna & Jeff Cooper of South Bend and Pat & Karen Ricketts of Madison. Aunts, Angela (Josh) Cotton of Plainfield, IL and Erin (TJ) Cavanaugh of Canton, GA and Rachel (Wahaj) Cooper-Khan of Lafayette and uncles, Brett (Katie) Ricketts of Vevay and Christopher Cooper of San Francisco, CA. Also surviving are several extended family members.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, with Fr. Christopher Omotosho officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Preston's memory to either Grants House at Donate - Wabash Center or VIPS of Indiana (Visually Impaired Preschool Services) Donate – VIPS of Indiana.
