Priscilla Altizer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. - Peru on Dec. 14, 2025.
Priscilla Ann Altizer slipped into eternity peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025.
She was born in Peru, February 23, 1931, the daughter of Harvey and Alice (Maynard) Monnette and was married to Blake Altizer (d.1989) for 33 years. She leaves behind 5 children: Tammi Jo Klajnbart of CO, Darrell Altizer (Elise) of Peru, Lisa Graybill of SC, Roxanne Melie of Clinton, NY, and Deanne McCallum (Roy) of SC; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Pam was valedictorian of her class in 1948 and received a degree from PSUC in Nursing in 1952. She worked as a nurse on Long Island and in Santa Barbara before children, and as a school nurse in the Keeseville, AuSable Valley and Peru school districts from 1975 until her retirement in 1994.
Priscilla was a long-standing member of the Peru Community Church, and a lifetime member and Girl Scout Leader. She was an active member of the Ladies Guild, the Community Church Choir, Red Hat Society, and the NYS Retired Teachers Association. She loved to travel - especially to see her family, and she was known to gather friends for coffee, lunch outings, plays, or college events. Her zest for life was balance by her quiet devotion to God.
A memorial service will be held at the Peru Community Church at 1pm on Saturday, December 20, 2025, with Rev. Ken Parker presiding. A reception will follow in the fellowship center. Burial in the Peru Cemetery will be in the spring.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Peru Community Church Steeple Fund or the Peru Cemetery.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 518-643-9055.
