January 23, 1936 - January 11, 2024
Priscilla "Gerri" Holladay, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Gerri's journey began on January 23, 1936, in Lumber City, Georgia. She peacefully passed away on January 11, 2024, in Winston-Salem, NC, surrounded by her loving family.
Gerri's love story was one of enduring commitment and devotion. She met the love of her life, William Holladay, and together they embarked on a remarkable 62-year marriage filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Their bond was unbreakable, and their love served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
After a fulfilling career, she retired from Piedmont Bible College, where she dedicated 24 years as the food service manager. Her warm smile and delicious meals nourished not only the bodies but also the spirits of those she served. Her unwavering faith in the Lord was evident in everything she did. She fearlessly shared her love for God, touching the lives of many with her kindness and compassion.
She had a zest for life that was contagious. She found immense joy in singing, spending quality time with her cherished family, and indulging in retail therapy during her shopping adventures. Her thoughtfulness and loving nature knew no bounds, as she selflessly reached out to those in need, offering support and comfort whenever required. Gerri's heart was filled with hope and anticipation, as she eagerly looked forward to the day, she would meet Jesus.
She is survived by her loving children, Ken Holladay, Karen (Greg) Fountaine, Kim (James) Rowland, and Keith (Jennifer) Holladay. Her legacy lives on through her nine grandchildren: Joshua, Amanda, Caleb, Katherine, Sam, Daniel, Charity, Nathan, and Isaac. Two great-grandchildren: Will, and Rilee.
Each one of them carries a piece of her spirit and will forever cherish the love and wisdom she imparted.
In the words she so often spoke, "This is not our home; we are just passing through." We will carry your memory in our hearts, striving to live with the same grace, love, and unwavering faith that you exemplified.
