Priscilla "Cilla" Mae Pappas, 78, of
Mason City, Iowa, passed away December 5, 2023, at MercyOne North Iowa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM, Monday December 11, 2023, at Epiphany Parish Holy Family Catholic Church, 722 N Adams Ave, Mason City. Burial will follow at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City. A vigil service will begin at 3:00 PM.
Cilla was born January 10, 1945, in
Corpus Christi, Texas, daughter of Frederick and Alice (Grein) Mulhern. She and her family moved to the Mason City area when she was an infant. Cilla graduated from Mason City High School with the class of 1963 She was united in marriage to George Conrad Pappas in 1963. Their union was blessed with two children. Cilla became a nurse aide and that is where she found her calling. She was known as a sweet woman who took pride in her work.
Cilla was a member of the VFW as well as the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed watching her soaps, although her cat Sophie was always the center of her attention. She also cherished the time she spent with family and friends.
Those left to cherish her are her children, Julie (Hal) Bumgarner of Mason City and Jeff (Cindy) Pappas of Mason City; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Tina Hudspeth; brother, Mick (Teri) Mulhern; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Preceding her in death are her husband, George; parents, grandparents, sister, Karrie Willier, grandson, Josh Pappas; and nephew, Lucas Seebeck.
