Priscilla Tolkien

My Condolences.

I would like to express the sympathy of the members of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus to the Tolkein family at the loss Priscilla R.I.P. She was a wonderful and gracious lady who was a friend of the Holy Child Sisters in the Community in Oxford. Her funeral Mass today at St. Gregory's & St Augustine's Church was a beautiful and simple celebration of Priscilla's life.
It was privilege to be able to be present at the Mass and pray in thanksgiving for the lovely times we shared and the memories we have of Priscilla. May she rest in peace.

Priscilla was my beloved Catholic godmother. We shared a love of music and went to many concerts and operas together. I adored her sparkle, her passion and her spontaneous sense of fun. She was endearing in so many ways. It was a joy to go out to restaurants with her. Like a hobbit, she loved her food! I will miss her more than words can say.

May God comfort the Tolkien family during this very difficult time.
