Prudence Elizabeth Parrish Dodd passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on March 18, 1941, in Denton, Texas to William Henry Parrish and Mattie Ester Parrish.
Prudence married James Ellis Lowe, Sr., following his military service, she moved with him and their children to Waco, Texas. She divorced in 1983 and married William Keith Dodd in 2000.
She studied at the Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas, receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1963. She worked as an RN in several different hospitals, including a hospital in Hawaii. Prudence had a true passion for flying. She was a member of the Baylor Club, an active member of the Red Hats Club (Red Hatters), and she also volunteered at Veterans One Stop.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Keith Dodd; as well as her parents and siblings, Mattie Hendon, Frank Parrish, John Parrish, and Janie Parrish.
Prudence is survived by her daughter, Linda Louise Honey and husband Ronald; her son, James Ellis Lowe, Jr., her sister, Billye Francis Ross; and her grandchildren, Peyton Lee Scott Lowe, Billie Dean Honey, Christopher Dall Honey and his wife Candace; along with her great-grandchild, Ariana Benitez.
Prudence was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She’ll always be remembered for her quiet strength, her deep love for family and the steady presence she was to all who knew her. Her life was one of devotion, resilience and grace.
