Quantavius Ross-Coleman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Marshall Funeral Home and Cremations on Mar. 31, 2026.
Our Prince, Quantavius Elijah Dreshaun Ross-Coleman was born Friday, August 2, 2002, in Austell, GA. He grew to a gentle giant at six feet, eight inches in height and exemplified faith, wisdom, caring and courage well beyond his physical years.

At the age of 23, Quantavius had worked hard at life with passion, enthusiasm, and a love for the game that inspired everyone around him. His final buzzer came too soon for us, but his legacy will forever live on in the hearts of teammates and his most devoted fans. We celebrate twenty-three years of heart, hustle, and hoops.

Q had a lifesaving liver transplant on Monday, February 6, 2017, when he was fourteen years of age in the seventh grade. It was as if a childhood was suddenly taken away, with Q missing his eighth grade year while enduring so much as a patient at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston for a year. Even so, he didn't use that as an excuse and looked forward to accomplishing anything he wanted to do! Q attended alternative school for six months to make up missed time and move forward to his correct grade. By God's grace, he graduated as a Gulfport High School Admiral on Wednesday, May 25, 2022!

Throughout the journey, Q's nurses often commented how respectful, pleasant and polite he always was and how much he loved his mother. Q and his mother were the best of friends, inseparable and loved each other dearly. He was a little stubborn sometimes, but always sweet.

Quantavius' favorite basketball players were LeBron James and Kevin Durant. He loved listening to music and his favorite artist was Rod Wave.

A big 'sneaker-head,' Q loved to cook and work out. He really enjoyed just being silly, a jokester, and he was quite out-going. Caring, kind and he loved the Lord; he did not fear anyone but God. He loved all his siblings, unconditionally! Talking about clean, that was Q. Everything had to be in place.

Q courageously and valiantly fought to the end, a 23-year-young slam dunk! He joined the All-Star Team in Heaven to be with the LORD when he left on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

Gone before to meet him were his Maternal Great Grandmother, Mary Coleman; Great Grandfather, Rev. Attell Coleman; Great Grandmother, Rosie Fairley; Uncles, Tyrone Ross and Marcus Ross; Maternal Grandfather, Clarence Lewis and Great Grandfather, Eugene Bailey.

So much love was created and nourished, with hearts overflowing, Q leaves his best game yet to his precious Mother, Christina Milsap (Scotty Milsap) with Brother Jy'Darius and Sister, Ja'Nireyah; Daddy, Trabis Bailey with Brother Travis and Sister London; Grandparents: Mother's Side: Ameal Coleman (Sharon Coleman), Gloria Ross and Mary Diane Thomas; Father's Side: Joyce Bailey; Uncles: Mother's Side: Ameal Ross; Aunts on Mother's Side: Marisa Coleman, Makayla Coleman and Antoinette Coleman; Daddy's Side: Brandon Bailey; Cousins, Other Relatives and Close Friends.

Acknowledgement

Though his childhood was marked by a sudden, life-altering challenge at age 14, Quantavius remained a shining light of faith, strength, miracles and blessings. We are grateful to everyone who recognized the wonderful young man he was and supported him. Thank you, LORD, for all you have done. Pastor, Clergy, Christian Missionary Baptist Church, Other Churches, Marshall Funeral Home and everyone, thank you!
