QUEEN E. GORDON WAS BORN ON JUNE 15, 1934 IN THE TOWN OF LOVELADY, TEXAS IN HOUSTON COUNTY, TO NAMON AND WILL MAE HALL. SHE ATTENDED GRADE SCHOOL IN THE VISTULA COMMUNITY AND LATER GRADUATED FROM CENTER GROVE HIGH SCHOOL. AFTER GRADUATING FROM HIGH SCHOOL, SHE LATER ENROLLED IN COLLEGE AT PRAIRIE VIEW A & M UNIVERSITY AND GRADUATED WITH A B.S. DEGREE.
SHE MET AND MARRIED HER DEVOTED HUSBAND,LESTER GORDON OF WHARTON, TEXAS IN 1962. THROUGH THIS UNION THEY RAISED FIVE CHILDREN.
QUEEN WAS EMPLOYED BY GRANTS DEPARTMENT STORE. HER GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT WAS WHEN SHE WENT ON TO WORK AS A SECRETARY FOR THE WORLD-RENOWNED DR. MICHAEL DEBAYKEY IN THE TEXAS MEDICAL CENTER. AFTER RETIREMENT, SHE SPENT HER TIME MAKING QUILTS, FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS AND CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS. HER PASSION WAS GROWING A VARIETY OF FLOWERS AROUND HER HOME.
QUEEN WAS ALSO A DEVOTED MEMBER OF PLEASANT GROVE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH AND LATER MOVED HER MEMBERSHIP TO LYONS UNITY MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF PASTOR REV. O.C. JOHNSON SR. THEN LATER UNDER REV. WILLIAM JORDAN WHERE SHE OFTEN TAUGHT BIBLE CLASS. SHE REMAINED FAITHFUL THERE UNTIL HER HEALTH BEGAN TO DECLINE.
QUEEN LEAVES TO CHERISH HER MEMORIES: CHILDREN; REGINALD HALL (RUBY); VICKIE GORDON BLACHE, SHANTA STROKES AND SISTERS; GERTIE B. NAULS AND MABLE JACKSON; BROTHER; ARTIS HALL (VERCY) ALL OF HOUSTON, TX. GRANDCHILDREN, RENESIA WHITE (ANDRE'), DEMETRIA EDMONDS (MARCUS), LIDGE STOKES, BRANDI JACKSON (BRIAN), BRIANA GORDON, TAYLOR WALKER, RAVEN BLANCHE- THOMAS (DAHMON); SON-IN-LAW, FREEMAN WALKER; DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, RONDA GORDON; GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, RIHANNA WHITE, MARCUS EDMUNDS, GABRIEL EDMUNDS, JASMINE LACY, TIMOTHY HALL II AND LENNOX THOMAS; AND A HOST OF OTHER FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND A HOST OF NIECES, NEPHEWS, AS WELL AS CLOSE FRIENDS.
SHE IS ALSO PROCEEDED IN DEATH BY HER SISTER; MARIE HALL; BROTHERS; D.C. HALL, WILLIE HAYNE AND OTIS HALL; PARENTS; NAMON AND WILLIE MAE HALL; DAUGHTER; LINDA WALKER; SON DARRYL GORDON; HUSBAND; LESTER GORDON AND GRANDSON; TIMOTHY HALL
