Quentin Robley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 24, 2025.
Quentin Dale Robley passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025 surrounded by family in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

He was born to John and Lenore Robley in Mitchell, South Dakota on April 1, 1939 and lived a life marked by service, dedication and love for those closest to him.

Quentin graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1957. In June of that same year, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He proudly served for four years as a communications technician in the security service stationed in North Dakota along with a memorable assignment in Germany.

On January 24, 1958, Quentin married Glorie Ann Larimer beginning a lifelong partnership that spanned almost seven decades.

Following his military service, Quentin graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1968 and obtained a master's degree from the University of Minnesota in 1970. Quentin built a distinguished career as a professor of special education at St. Cloud State University. He dedicated over 30 years to teaching, mentoring and shaping the lives of countless students.

During this time, Quentin and Glorie Ann raised their children on a horse farm in central Minnesota. Quentin spent years as an avid runner, and cyclist. He completed countless marathons, fun runs, road races, and cycling events with close friends and local running clubs. Quentin and Glorie Ann spent many years riding their tandem bicycle while traveling the United States in Airstream trailers. After retiring they spent their winters in Sierra Vista where they settled permanently during Covid.

Quentin was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lenore, and his younger sister Marvis. He is survived by his older sister LaMaye, his loving wife, Glorie Ann, his four children: Donald (and his wife Bonnie), Joseph (and his wife Brandi), James (and his wife Joyce), and Holly (and her husband Nicholas); his five grandchildren: Amanda, Justin, Jennifer, Brandon and Brent as well as five great-grandchildren: Joel, Colton, Olivia, Bruce and Kayden.

Quentin will be remembered for his steady guidance, his commitment to education, and his unwavering devotion to family.

In lieu of immediate services, the family will host a celebration of life at a later time.
