Mr. Quinton Timothy Ross Sr.

1946 - 2023

Mr. Quinton Timothy Ross, Sr., was born on May 1, 1946, to the late Robie and Leila Christian Ross in Opelika, AL. He departed this life on Sunday, June 11, 2023.
Quinton, affectionately known as "Tim," confessed Christ at an early age at Thompson Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Opelika, AL.
Quinton graduated in 1965 from J. W. Darden High School in Opelika, AL. Quinton and the Class of 1965 had an unshakable bond. After graduation, he matriculated to Alabama State University where he studied Art Education. He was initiated into the Gamma Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., in the Fall of 1966, serving as Vice-Basileus to the chapter. He had a great love for Alabama State University and was a proud member of the graduating class of 1969.
Quinton was a profound educator, artist and craftsman.
Quinton Timothy Ross, Sr., was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Katelyn Nicole Toussaint; six brothers: Donald Ross, Alvin Ross, Robie Ross, Jr., John Lewis Ross, William Ross, and Joseph Ross; and three sisters: Dorothy Ross Batchelor, Sarah Ross Bonner, and Farris Ross Fowler.
Memories of Quinton's life and legacy will be cherished by his spouse, Shirley Rice Ross; two devoted sons: Quinton (JK) Ross, Jr., Quintlon (Jia) Ross, both of Montgomery, AL; a loving daughter, Ursula Ross, Pontiac, MI; one sister, Gloria Whitfield, Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren: Quinmari (Kayla Otis) Ross, Evans, GA; Quaeshun (Ja'Lyn) Ross, Detroit, MI; Myles Ross, Quinton Ross, III, and Graysen Ross, all of Montgomery, AL; four great-grandchildren: Qualaeb, Bailey, Kennedi, and Quincy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
