R.G. Mills, 75, of Silvis, Illinois, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at home with his family by his side.

Visitation is 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, immediately followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Lundeen officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Vietnam Veterans of the Quad Cities will present military honors. Memorials may be made to the family.

Robert Glenn Mills was born August 31, 1950, in Moline, the son of Arthur Eugene and Alma (Hemm) Mills. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, spending time in Korea and Japan. He married the love of his life, Marie (King) South, on June 15, 1993, in Colona, Illinois. He retired from LeClaire Manufacturing before going back to work for Thomas Place in Bettendorf in maintenance.

R.G.’s work at Thomas Place wasn’t just a job, as it was more of a calling to help others and show Jesus’ love to others. He attended Connect Church of the Quad Cities most recently. He loved the ministry, playing guitar and singing, as well as speaking at Sunday night services at New Life Fellowship in Moline. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

R.G. is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Mills of Silvis; three children, Robert G. (Paula) Mills of Fowler, Colorado, Aaron (Thiry) Mills of Canyon City, Colorado, and Heath Mills; four step-children, Tommy (Misty) South of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Joseph (Christy) South of Panama City Beach, Florida, Stephanie South of Milan, Illinois, and Cody Tracy of Silvis; many grandchildren; and siblings, Gloria (Doyle) Hoover, Mary Potter, Steve (Bobbi) Mills, Diana Crayne, Betty Moore, Arthur “Art” Mills, and Penny Mills. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Lula Minor, Patsy Swank, and David Mills.
