R. Fay McCabe, 92 of Selbyville, DE passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025 at Coastal Hospice At The Lake in Salisbury, MD. She was born in St. Martins, MD and was the daughter of the late Cyrus and Sophia (Molnar) Teter.
Fay and her husband Dean owned and operated The Shoe Mart in Selbyville for many years. She was a long-time member of the Showell United Methodist Church where she was involved for many years. Fay was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend who lived a life marked by resilience, strength, and unwavering love.
Fay is survived by her devoted daughters, Rebecca Cathell and spouse Rita Davis of Youngsville, NC and Bertha Taylor and husband Ted of Willards, MD; grandson, Robert Baker III and wife Lydia; two great-grandsons, Chase and Bryce Baker; one sister, Frances Louise Marrell of Lexington, SC; one brother, John Teter of Salisbury, MD. Her family was her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them, embodying the love and warmth that will forever resonate in their hearts.
In addition to her parents Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Dean W. McCabe, brothers, Cyrus Teter, Jr. and Howard Teter; sisters, Florence Coward and Charlotte Teter.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday December 3, 2025 at the Bishopville Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Bishopville, MD. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Showell United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 55, Showell, MD 21862.
