Mrs. Button was one of the sweetest and kindest souls and a great Christian who loved and taught hundreds of children over the years. Ron and I and our family were privileged to call her our friend! When I texted the children about Mrs. Button's homegoing, Julie said, "Awwww, I just loved her!!" She was happy to know that her daughter, Jocelyn, shared the same birthdate of April 14th with Mrs. Button. Nathan wrote, "She always had a moment of silence to start the day. I'm sure that she was praying during that time." Julie also wrote, "I was in first grade and was in a split 2st and 2nd grade class...I was always amazed how she could teach two different grade levels in the same classroom...I only have good memories about her. I always enjoyed running into her over the years after I was out of school, and I loved her accent." Kevin enjoyed her as his 2nd grade teacher. Then Nathan wrote, "She invited anyone to her home to see their FAT CAT. I remember Mom taking me there to visit Mrs. Button and her FAT CAT." Julie responded, "I remember that and I remember going too!" :)
Ron and I have many happy memories of Ray and Rachel. The sweetest couple ever! When our church (Lighthouse Baptist) bought the 19 acres on Rix Mills Road back in the early 80's, the Buttons generously gave us their Allis Chalmers tractor! What a big help and blessing!! Ron enjoyed mowing with that tractor for many years. After it had seen "better days", it was sold to a man who totally restored it, and we would enjoy seeing it "look new again" at the Steam and Tractor Show out by Chandlersville. As you can tell, our family were grateful to know Rachel and Ray Button! We send our sincere condolances to all of the children and grandchildren. Psalm 23 (Ron and Jean Hinebaugh)
