Dear Meredith and Family,
What a lovely service to celebrate Rachel's life. I could not help noticing that you have an amazing network of family and friends surrounding you at this very difficult time. My prayers will continue for all of you. I heard Meredith ask, "How does one recover from this?" Although I cannot answer that, I can say with assurance that you have an amazing network of support and we will all help you. I had the honor and privilege to meet Rachel while she was a student at the Mount. She led the Mount girls who volunteered for me at hospice. Rachel always wore a smile in the office or with patients. When our oldest dtgr started at the Mount, Rachel who was a senior, was there to answer any questions for her. She is watching from above, with her Angel wings, always to be remembered.

July 26, 2018

My sincere condolences to family and friends. May the God who binds up the brokenhearted and comforts all who mourn, sustain your family during this difficult time - Isaiah 61:1, 2.

I offer my condolences to you all....Rachel was such a beautiful person on the inside and out. We shared many stories, tears, laughs and dreams and I will miss her. Although Rachel was fighting her own battle, she found time to support me in my time of need, she was just that kind of woman. Rachel is resting in God's Arms...
Sometimes people are beautiful. Not in looks. Not in what they say. Just in what they are.

Although I only knew Rachel for a short time as a coworker in anesthesia with UAS she was a night light in a sometimes difficult profession and she always had a kind word and beautiful smile!! She will be sorely missed ♥

Dear Gernard Family,
I only met Rachel once but she made an incredible impression on myself and my husband. Rachel was a friend of our son Ryan, they worked with the Norte Dame Club together. We had the pleasure of sharing a dinner table with her and Bubba a few years ago. I was immediately taken by Rachel's sweet personality and we talked all night . She shared with me that she was beginning treatment the very next week and I promised to keep her in my prayers. Our son Ryan and his wife Erika are so deeply saddened, as are we, at this impossible loss. I can tell you that her courage and grace that evening was amazing and she made such an impact on me that I have never forgotten. Now the question for you is... How to go on... I wish I knew the words to ease your sorrow, I do not. This I do know.. a light as bright and beautiful as Rachel's will never be extinguished, like the eternal flame it will continue to shine through the darkness and when the light begins to show again. It will be in the love and laughter of those whose lives she touched, if only for a night, and in the lives of all who had the great privilege of loving her for a lifetime. You were truly blessed. May God hold you in the palm of his hand, today and forever.
Sincerely,
Mary and Gerald Becker and family

What a beautiful young woman Rachel was! The ways of God are so hard to understand, as we see dimly now. To Mark, Pat, Bubba, Meredith, Drew, Miss Emma and Miss Mary Kate, my heart is so sad for you! Try to keep your mind on good reports... Proverbs says! You are blessed with sooo many loving memories.... most bring a satisfying smile! May God strengthen and keep you safe... only looking up, knowing eternity is where we will all be some day! Our walk will be with God and His Christ! To Rachel's Family- I am thinking of you all during this devastating and sad time. Everyone says just how happy and positive Rachel always was no matter the situation at work was going. I was only fortunate to know her there, but she definitely touched my life just by working with her side by side. I pray for comfort and strength for you all today, tomorrow, and for years to come.

Dear Mark, Patti, Merideth and Bubba,
We are so sorry to hear if Rachel's passing. She was such a great mentor to the Cedarbrook swimmers and the younger girls all looked up to her. I had the pleasure of seeing her at Paola hospital when my mother was there a few years ago and she went out of her way to say hello to me. We will always remember her radiant personality

So Go and Run Free

So go and run free with the angels

Dance around the golden clouds

For the Lord has chosen you to be with him

And we should feel nothing but proud

Although he has taken you from us

And our pain a lifetime will last

Your memory will never escape us

But make us glad for the time we did have

Your face will always be hidden

Deep inside our hearts

Each precious moment you gave us

Shall never, ever depart

So go and run free with the angels

Dear Generd Family:
I am so saddened by hearing the news of Rachel's passing. Rachel was a friend from High School. She had an excellent mix of kindness and determination that made her very unique. I remember Rachel as a beautiful, driven, goal-oriented person that set her sights on things and achieved them - this was an exceptional quality that she had from a young age. I was always impressed with her maturity, judgement and people and leadership skills which made her someone that was fun to be around yet someone who I admired and learned from. Although her departure from this Earth was way too soon, I know that her presence in Heaven is making it a better place. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.
Sincerely,
Kevin Hallinan
