Rachel L. Palumbo

1967 - 2025

Janesville, WI - Rachel L. Palumbo, age 57, of Janesville, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville. She was born at Misericordia Hospital in Milwaukee on October 13, 1967, the daughter of Victor and Jo Anne (Jameson) Dyer, and was a 1986 graduate of Milton High School. Rachel married Michael F. Palumbo on April 16, 2013, in Floyd County, Virginia. She worked in Home Health Care as a CNA for many years and had also worked for Skaalen Nursing Home. She played clarinet and had been a part of a production of The Wizard of Oz during her younger years, in which she played the Wicked Witch. She enjoyed shopping at yard sales, traveling, and decorating for the holidays. Rached loved her dog, Jack, her family, and her in-laws.

Rachel is survived by her husband, Michael; 2 children; Lisa (Alex) Larson of Edgerton and Dale Bennish Jr. of Cambridge; 3 step children: Sarah (Elizabeth) Palumbo of Beloit, Joshua (Ashley) Palumbo and Jessica Palumbo both of Wisconsin Rapids; 3 grandchildren: Alice, Stellan and Annika; 5 step grandchildren: Aiden, Alex, Archer, Ariel and Avery; mother, Jo Anne Dyer of Cambridge; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Andrew (Barbara) Dyer.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at APFEL EHLERT FUNERAL HOME, 315 Lord St. (Hwy 51), Edgerton. Visitation will take place on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Milton Junction Cemetery.
