Rachel Savoie Obituary
A visitation will take place at the Henderson Bible Church in Henderson on Wednesday from 9:00 am until time of service.
Pastor Sherman Soileau will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at Henderson Bible Church Cemetery.
Rachel was born on September 22, 1970 in Lafayette. Rachel had a zest for life that was reflected in her many interests and hobbies. She had a deep love for Jesus, which guided her actions and interactions with others. Her devotion to her faith shone brightly in all that she did. Rachel also cherished her family above all else, finding joy and fulfillment in their company. She was known for her love of card games, always ready for a friendly match with anyone willing to join her at the table.
A self-proclaimed coffee lover, Rachel could often be found with a warm cup in hand, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. She had a fondness for cigarettes, a habit she held onto throughout her days. Despite this vice, Rachel's nurturing nature earned her the title of "Nanny" from everyone she met. Her non-judgmental attitude and compassionate spirit made her a beacon of comfort and support for those in need.
She is survived by her husband, John Savoie; son, Justin Savoie; daughter, Julie Savoie; brothers, Nelson Theriot and Jude Theriot; her sisters, Tracy Barras, Leslie Meche, Julie Theriot and Jessica Alexander; nieces and nephews, Shane, Ashley, Hayley, Lindsey, Kamri, Bailin, Shawn, Austin, Trevor, Joshua, Kayle, Malarie, Dunice (DJ), Ariana, Nikki (Eula),Scotty (T-Scotty), Dustin (T-Dus), Breanna, Jordan, and Kameron; and great nieces and great nephews, Ayce, Brynlee, Kayson, Cali, Jaxon, Astazia, Carter, Deja'rae, Izabella, Greyson, Madalynn, Westley, Ella, Greyson, and Easton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Doris Dauphine Theriot; grandfathers, Sidney Theriot and Archange Dauphine; aunt, Glenda Hardy; and her nephews, Brennan Dauphine and Riley Dauphine.Pallbearers will be Shane Dauphine, Austin Theriot, Jude Theriot, Reed Theriot, Shawn Theriot, Trevor Hebert, Joshua Hebert and Justin Savoie.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dunice Theriot, Kayson Collette and Ayce Duplechien.
Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
