Rachel Volkmann Obituary

Rachel L. (Potvin) Volkmann, 95, of Goffstown, died December 2, 2025 after a period of declining health.

Born in Manchester on June 7, 1930, she was the daughter of Paul E. and Eva (Larochelle) Potvin. She attended Manchester West High School.

Prior to retirement, she had worked from home as a sales representative for Stanley Home Products for over 58 years in a job she truly loved.

Most recently, she was a communicant of Parish of the Transfiguration and previously had served as vice president of the St. Anne Sodality at Sacred Heart Church in Manchester. She was a member of the Hillsborough County Nursing Home Guild and CWV Auxiliary Ramsey Post 1624.

Rachel enjoyed time spent reading, discussing politics and spiritual matters as well as trips to Foxwoods with family and friends. She especially enjoyed dining out and socializing with family. She will always be remembered for her generosity and kindness.

Above all she will be remembered as a doting mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henry T. Volkmann in 2019.

Family members include her son, Steven Volkmann of Hampton, NH; 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; 3 sisters, Lauretta Dow of Concord, NH, Claire Moreau of Manchester and Muriel Tela of Hollywood, FL; a brother, Paul Potvin of Manchester, NH; nephews, nieces and cousins.

Per her request, there will be no public funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to support the Hillsborough County Nursing Home Guild, 400 Mast Rd, Goffstown, NH 03045.
