Rafael Gomez

Rafael Gomez entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at the age of eighty-nine years old.

Rafael was born to Atanacio Gomez and Mariana Gomez in Brownsville, Texas. He was retired and enjoyed his time off. He enjoyed mother nature and the gameshow; The Price Is Right. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

Rafael was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Petra M. Gomez and his siblings; Reynaldo Gomez, Delia Garcia, Atanacio Gomez Jr. and is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law Sonia Patricia (Gualberto also known as “Wally”) Bennett. Also, to treasure many memories are his two grandchildren; Brianna Alexis Bennett (Matthew Vasquez) and Gualberto Bennett III (Estefana) and four great grandchildren; Olivia Anabelle Vasquez, Diego Osvaldo Vasquez Jr., Nathaniel Gunther Bennett and Jacob Colt Bennett.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 with a scheduled chapel service at 2 p.m. in the South Chapel of Treviño Funeral Home. Rite of committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
