I had the honor of checking out Ralf in the T-38 at Moody AFB, GA, when he returned to the States from FAC duty in Vietnam. We were also close neighbors in Moody's base housing. Although never having flown the T-38, Ralf was a master pilot in all respects and took to the T-38 as if he had been away from it only briefly. He was also blessed with a ready smile, incredibly positive "can do" attitude, and extremely sharp wit. In everything that he touched, he excelled most admirably. I last encountered Ralf when he was the Exec to the VCINC while I was in the AF Secretariat. An ultra committed officer, superb pilot and communicator, and incredibly valuable officer for the USAF, we need to hold this wonderful person in our memory always. (John M. Anderson, Col., USAF Ret.)
