Ralph and Margaret Salvino, lifelong Canton residents, passed away November 19, 2025. Ralph was born September 7, 1941 to Eugene Orlando and Jean Marie Salvino and Margaret was born May 31, 1943 to William Earl and Alice (Alexander) Poorman. Together, they have been reunited with their parents who preceded them in death. Margaret is also preceded in death by her brother, David and sister, Mary Ellen.
Ralph retired after 37 ½ years as a grinder from the Timken Company. He specialized in tapered roller bearings and was proud to have made the wheel bearings for the space shuttle. Ralph was also an instructor at Timken Research. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting for pheasant, turkey, and deer. His love for the great outdoors and professionalism in hunting regulations guided him to serve as an officer for many years at the Game Reserve Association.
Margaret retired after several years from First Merit Bank. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and serving with her Sunday school class. She genuinely loved being a mom, participating in all aspects of her children’s lives such as school activities and serving on PTOs. Margaret also loved entertaining and cooking for family and friends, especially during the holidays.
First and foremost, Ralph and Margaret built a good foundation of strength, honesty, gratitude, and most importantly, love. They journeyed together, creating memories. Cherishing those memories are those who survive; their children, Eugene Salvino, Ann (Canter) Martin, Mark (Tricia) Salvino; four grandchildren, Savanna, Lauryn, Grace, and Madeline; and one great-grandchild, Atles; Ralph’s sister, Annette (Gordon) Wenner and their children Sarah (Jeff) Bloomhuff and Brian Wenner; and many others whose lives were touched by the two of them.
Visitation for Ralph and Margaret will be held at Lamiell Funeral Home on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Services will be at the funeral home on Monday, December 1, 2025, 11:00 AM with Pastor Shane Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery, Canton.
We invite family, friends, and loved ones to share their memories, prayers, and photos at www.lamiellfuneralhome.com during this tender time for the family.
