In memory of

I first met Ralph in the 80's on a fishing trip with Jim Hardie aboard the 25' Vitamin Sea. I became a "Delphette" from that moment on. Deepest sympathy to Caroline and the Delph family. He was truly a legend.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Ralph several times. Met him in late November 1979. Those wild & crazy rides (on the Conch 27) towards the NW into the Gulf during winter won't be forgotten. I named him 'Iron Man Steel'.

As a member of the Miami Sportfishing Club, Ralph was the gold standard we all tried to reach. He taught every one in the club, even those who came after he moved through those of us who he taught personality. We will miss him but will cherish the memories we have.

Dawn and Jay, I am sorry to read about Dawn's father passing. He sounds like quite a great man to have lived a full life, and enriched so many children too. God bless you and the family as you travel back home. We are all born knowing we will die, but it doesn't make the hurt any less. Know you will see him again one day. My sympathy to all the Delph family. Love those Montana mountains, thanks for sharing.

We fished many times at the SW corner, he could pull a tuna out of a toilet! He told me some tips that I still use today. He was unlike the other fisherman and would share technics with others. Sorry for your lose and i will continue to tell stories of knowing him with others. Aloha Andy Trozzi

Ralph and my family go back to the early seventies.
I recall him saying to me on several occasions that "life is often composed of three things, 1. the anticipation of an event, 2. the actual event,3. the memory of that event" .
I have many pleasant memories of those events with Ralph fishing and hunting in Key West and Montana.
He certainly was the Very BEST in everything he did and transmitted that enthusiasm and sense of accomplishment in the highest to me.
I will miss you Capt. Delph . I know you and "the Vitamin Sea" will have smooth seas and always find new wreck numbers to fish up there....Tight Lines with The Lord.
My most sincere condolences to you Caroline and the rest of the family.
God Bless...!

Ralph lived a rich and full life all while keeping family #1. His passion for the outdoors was embraced by his son's. They, in turn, generously shared this love of the outdoors with my son, and for this, I will be forever grateful. Quite a legacy.

Ralph Delph was a fisherman's fisherman. My dad, Ed Corlett , also a world class angler, spent every free moment on the water. He enjoyed fishing with Mr Delph as did my son's. I am sorry for your family loss.
