Ralph Wayne Edwards, born on October 4, 1951, in Pittsfield, Illinois, entered into the presence of the Lord on October 1, 2025, in
Harlingen, Texas, just days shy of his 74th birthday. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know him. Ralph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia Edwards; his cherished daughter, Tricia Silva, and her husband Mario Silva; and his adored grandchildren, Mario Isaiah Silva, Lauren Silva and his loving sister, Linda Turnbeaugh. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Lindy, and Barbara Edwards, whom he always held dear in his heart. At the age of 19 he earned an Electronic Certification from the United Electronics Institute, demonstrating his commitment to learning and personal growth. As an Information Technology Manager, Ralph dedicated his career to advancing technology and innovation. Ralph's dedication to his craft extended beyond his professional life. His passion for his work was matched only by his love for his family and his unwavering faith in God. Ralph was a good provider, ensuring that those he loved were always cared for and supported. In his free time, Ralph immersed himself in his many interests, which included woodworking, photography, traveling, technology, and automotive pursuits. He was also known for his cooking, especially his smoked barbeque. He possessed an innate curiosity and thirst for knowledge that kept him engaged and inspired throughout his life. His work with his hands, whether crafting beautiful wood pieces or capturing family photographs, was a testament to his creativity and talent. Above all, Ralph loved God and his family fiercely. He was a guiding light and source of strength for those around him, always encouraging others to live a faithful life full of prayer and devotion. Services to celebrate the life of Ralph Edwards will be held at Rudy Garza Funeral Home in
Harlingen, Texas on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a service at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace in Harlingen. The burial will follow at Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery in Harlingen. The services will also be available via livestream for family and friends that are unable to attend. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and remember the remarkable life of a man who touched so many with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love. Ralph's spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his memory will forever be cherished by his loved ones. Arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen.
